1. Physical Properties
• High Density: The density is generally 17.1 ± 0.15 g/cm³.
• High Hardness: Exhibits excellent hardness and compressive strength, with outstanding wear resistance.
• Excellent High-Temperature Resistance: The tungsten-based alloy has a high melting point and can maintain mechanical properties in high-temperature environments.
• Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: A low thermal expansion coefficient contributes to stability under high temperatures and rapid temperature changes.
• Good Electrical and Thermal Conductivity: Comparable to copper or silver, suitable for applications requiring high thermal or electrical conductivity.
2. Mechanical Properties
• High Strength: Tensile strength can reach 800-1200 MPa, with even higher compressive strength.
• Good Toughness: The addition of molybdenum (Mo), nickel (Ni), and iron (Fe) improves toughness and reduces brittleness compared to pure tungsten.
• Excellent Machinability: With proper process design, it can be precisely machined and formed.
3. Chemical Properties
• Corrosion Resistance: Demonstrates good chemical stability in many corrosive environments.
• Oxidation Resistance: Shows a degree of oxidation resistance at higher temperatures but requires appropriate protective coatings or controlled environments.
