Types of tungsten-molybdenum-nickel-iron alloys are usually based on the percentage of tungsten. The following are common types:
1. 90W-Mo-Ni-Fe (90% tungsten)
Typical ratio: such as 90W-4Mo-4Ni-2Fe, or other ratios (such as 90W-3Mo-5Ni-2Fe).
Features: Density of about 17.5-17.8 g/cm³, good ductility and machinability, and molybdenum enhances high temperature performance.
Applications: Radiation shielding, counterweights (such as aerospace), armor-piercing cores.
2. 93W-Mo-Ni-Fe (93% tungsten)
Typical ratio: such as 93W-2Mo-3Ni-2Fe.
Features: Slightly higher density (about 18.0-18.2 g/cm³), improved strength and hardness, but slightly inferior ductility.
Application: military industry (high-performance core), high-temperature mold.
3. 95W-Mo-Ni-Fe (95% tungsten)
Typical ratio: such as 95W-1Mo-3Ni-1Fe.
Features: Density close to pure tungsten (about 18.5 g/cm³), highest hardness and density, slightly poor machinability.
Application: high-end counterweight, precision shielding parts.
4. Other ratios (such as 85W or 97W)
Features: 85W (such as 85W-5Mo-5Ni-5Fe) has lower density but lower cost; 97W (such as 97W-1Mo-1Ni-1Fe) has extremely high density but increased brittleness.
Application: customized according to specific needs, such as low-cost counterweight or ultra-high density shielding.
