Heavy alloy is the generic name for tungsten-based, high-density alloy and contains nickel, copper and iron as additives for homogeneous sintering. The tungsten alloy THA Standard is classified according to composition, or tungsten content, and the sorts of additive. The alloy is widely used as the key material for nuclear devices because it excels in mechanical properties, radiation-shielding properties and thermal resistance. Unlike pure tungsten material, heavy alloy is easily machined and precision finished by turning, milling, boring, threading and grinding.
