Tungsten Alloy Material

Tungsten Powder
Tungsten alloy material generally are refractory metal, which have two-phase composites consisting of W-Ni- Fe or W-Ni- Cu or even W-Ni-Cu-Fe, some it is added Co、Mo、Cr, etc. The product has very high melting point and has a density twice that of steel and are more than 50% heavier than lead. Tungsten alloy material content in conventional heavy alloys varies from 90 to 98 weight percent and is the reason for their high density (between 16.5 and 18.75 g/cc).

The majority of current uses for tungsten alloy material are best satisfied with the W-Ni-Fe system. Tungsten alloys such as 93W-4.9Ni-2.lFe and 95W-4Ni-lFe represent common compositions. The addition of cobalt to a W-Ni-Fe alloy or it is a common approach for slight enhancement of both strength and ductility. The presence of cobalt within the alloy provides solid-solution strengthening of the binder and slightly enhanced tungsten-matrix interfacial strength. Cobalt additions of 5 to 15% of the nominal binder weight fraction are most common.

Tungsten alloy material based on tungsten as the base to add other elements of the alloy. In the metal, the highest melting point of tungsten alloy material, high temperature strength and creep resistance and thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity

and electron emission performance than the major, in addition to used extensively for the manufacture of cemented carbide and for alloying additives, the product and its alloys are widely used sectors of the electronics, electric light industry, but also aerospace, casting, weapons used to make rocket nozzles, casting molds, penetrators, contact the heating element and heat shield.

In accordance with different purposes, tungsten alloys are divided into the carbide, tungsten alloy material, metal sweat materials, contact materials, tungsten alloy material electronics and electrical source material. In the 1950s, China has been able to produce tungsten alloy material. 60 years carried out research on melting, powder metallurgy and processing of tungsten alloy material , is now able to produce plate, sheet, foil, bar, pipe, wire and other special parts.

The high melting point of tungsten alloy material, hard and brittle, processing difficulties, but as long as there is a reasonable process, tungsten alloy powder metallurgy billet system, extrusion, forging, rolling, spinning and drawing, and other processed timber. With the improvement in the level of plastic processing tungsten alloy, its organization, the tensile strength and plastic - brittle transition temperature greatly improved tungsten alloy billets.

Qualified billets is one of the keys of the tungsten alloy material production, system billet first the selection of qualified tungsten powder. The characteristics of the powder (average particle size, particle size distribution, and chemical composition), mixing, forming and sintering process on the blank composition, density and microstructure has a direct impact and strongly affects the processing and use of performance.

Tungsten alloy material or tungsten alloy material can be sintered billet direct extrusion, the extruded tube or slip extrusion sintering tube by spinning process. Spinning can also produce shaped products of it. The large diameter bars often use of extrusion or rolling process to produce.
