Tungsten alloy bullet core for tank is applied in piercing projectiles so as to damage the armored targets such as tanks, self-propelled artillery, armored vehicles and ships. As it is made of tungsten heavy alloy materials, the bullet core has the characteristics of high density, high hardness, high strength and so on.
The production material of tungsten alloy bullet core for tank is tungsten-base alloy with a content of 90%~95% of tungsten metal, while the rest is made of nickel, iron and other alloys. A few also contain up to 98% or less than 90% tungsten. Tungsten-base alloy has high density, which is conducive to improving penetration ability. It also has a good ability to resist pressure and deformation, which may reduce the diameter of the elastic core. As the diameter decreases, the same force acting on a smaller area increases the force per unit area, which greatly increases the penetration power of the projectile.
Tungsten alloy rod is produced by pressing and sintering into billets, which are worked by rolling or swaging into rod. Smaller sizes are produced by subsequent drawing. Tungsten alloy rod is produced in straight random lengths with a smooth swaged surface at diameters 3mm and larger, and with a smooth drawn finish below 3mm. A center less-ground finish can also be furnished. Specific lengths and special fabrications can be supplied upon request. Tungsten alloy bullet core for tank is further processed by the tungsten alloy rod.
